2014

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road January 2014 Vol. 2 No. 1

Our second issue and the first featuring Jack Hawkins as one of our writers. A few articles on clothes and equipment for cold weather cycling as well as some stories.

Pico's Cycling -Tales of the Road February 2014 Vol. 2 No. 2

Our second issue features our first encounter with Iohan Gueorguiev. The interview by Jack Hawkins became the most read article of the entire year.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road March 2014 Vol. 2 No. 3

Canadian winters and Fatbikes go hand in hand. Jack takes a look at those in this issue while I tell a few more stories. Finally we talk about Spring because we're sick of winter already.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road April 2014 Vol. 2 No. 4

This issue's cover picture shows my daughter riding her first tour at five years old. She covered more than 200 kilometres in a two week period. Riding with young children isn't easy but is possible. More great stories and articles besides in this instalment.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road May 2014 Vol. 2 No. 5

More kids on the cover. This issue continues discussing family touring. Jack and I both write articles touching on getting the most for your money when choosing equipment.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road June 2014 Vol. 2 No. 6

Nancy Sathre-Vogel provided us with our cover photo and story for this issue. We ended up with a bit of a theme this month discussing hospitality often encountered on the road by people everywhere.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road July 2014 Vol. 2 No. 7

Cover here captures a taste of the loneliness of solo touring. Lead article discusses dehydration which can be an unexpected danger while cycling. That is the theme of the whole issue.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road August 2014 Vol. 2 No. 8

Cover photo shows my bike locked up at work on my daily commute. No real theme this month. Just a collection of stories and articles. Jack does provide our first cycling book review. Something that we'll revisit from time to time.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road September 2014 Vol. 2 No. 9

Cover shows a rider in city commuting mode. No real theme to this issue either. Jack however gets interviewed on The Pursuit Zone. His article provides links to that podcast.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road October 2014 Vol. 2 No. 10

This bicycle trail/recreation trail bridge is along my commute at that time. Very attractive. The wood could get unbelievably slick though. Another book review from Jack and other articles.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road November 2014 Vol. 2 No. 11

In this issue we focus some on fall cycling. We also have Bernard Genge tell us about his dream of creating a cyclist retreat in Spain. Great to have him share his dream with our dream.

Pico's Cycling - Tales of the Road December 2014 Vol. 2 No. 12

Our first anniversary issue. Hard to believe we made it this far. We pat ourselves on the back and go right on bringing stories and articles to our readers.
